VISION COUNCILS
Vision Councils are made up of local volunteers and issue experts working together to distribute resources and recognize and address new community issues/needs.
These councils will have a minimum of 6 members, at least 3 United Way Board Members and 3 issue experts.
These team members evaluate program details to assure United Way investors their gifts are being used effectively and efficiently in Kosciusko County. After the program reviews, the vision councils present their funding recommendations to the Community Impact committee, then to the United Way Board, who makes the final funding decisions.
The four Vision Councils are as follows:
Youth Development Vision Council:
Board members with Elementary school principal; early childhood development representative; school counselor; higher education representative
Family/Community Wellness Vision Council:
Board members with retired educator; large industry representative; mental health representative; business woman with children; individual with knowledge of an industry that employees lower-income families; bank president
Emergency Services Vision Council:
Board members with HR individual with knowledge of an industry that employees lower-income families; realtor; police chief; county administrator; lawyer; CPA;
Self-sufficiency Vision Council:
Board members with community mover and shaker with main interests and contacts; individual with knowledge from the printing industry; community member with community expertise; community foundation representative
